Water ran off from the above picture into the valley and down to the bottom where some of the soil collected.

Believe it or not these images are very mild in comparison to what has happened on previous years, what can still happen and what will probably happen more this spring season.

Traditionally you have to get through the second week in June to get past the severe erosion/flooding time frame.

So the scenes above created the problem on the right below.


Terraces do very little to solve the erosion problem.
Note that there is erosion even with terraces above.

Even grass strips on tilled sidehills do little to reduce erosion.
