This may have nothing to do with you family but wanted to send ... "just in case".
We are in Jackson County, Maquoketa, Iowa. I was doing research for a friend...
Were your people from Luxembourg??
I have a John Michels and wife, Anna Timmens.
(No dates, so far.) (I ran out of research time.)
Their son, John Peter was born 9-13-1865 in Luxembourg but married (12-26-1887)in Springbrook, Iowa. Do not know "if" he came to the U.S. with his parents or alone??
When there's time, I will try to find "dates" on this couple.

P.S. The Jackson Co. W.P.A. list a Thomas Timmons (1848-1924)buried in Harmony Church Cemetery, Zwingle, Iowa.
