Funeral services for William Waterbury were held Tuesday, January 10, 1984, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa. Officiating was Pastor Paul Krumm of Zion Lutheran Church. Music was provided by Larry Genzen, vocalist and Dorothy Kusel, organist. Casketbearers were: Jim Waterbury, Jeff Waterbury, Mike Enenbach, Larry Schnoor, Jerry Anthony, and Ed Nelson.

Honorary casketbearers were: Ronnie Hiatt, Louie Lorenzen, Donald Grage, Tom Rutherford, and Lanny Rutherford. Interment was at Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla, Iowa.

Bill, son of Henry and Edna (Grage) Waterbury, was born August 20, 1931, at Manilla, Iowa. He attended Manilla schools.

On May 21, 1951, Bill was united in marriage with Bonnie Schnoor, at Worthington, Minnesota. They lived in Manning all their lives. Bill first worked on telephone construction; however, for the past 25 years, he was a lineman, then general foreman for the L.E. Meyers Electrical Construction Co.

Bill retired for health reasons in 1981.

Bill was a member of I.B.E.W. Local Union #55, and the American Legion. Bill had been in failing health for several years before his death on Sunday, January 8, 1984, at the age of 52 years, 4 months, 19 days.

Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Manning; three children, Debra, and her husband, Tom Lingle, Manilla, Vicki and her husband Ron Truitt of Dunlap, and Tim Waterbury, Manning; four grandchildren: Renae and Cody Lingle, and Ryan and Jason Truitt; six brothers and sisters: Jack Waterbury, Chula Vista, California, Aloha Enenbach, Manning, Bob Waterbury, Boone, Helen Higgins, Carson, Iowa, Cliff Waterbury, Manning, and Candace Borgmyer, Council Bluff, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
