Wilbur "Casey" Karsten, 49, of Manning died Monday morning, December
18, at Manning General Hospital following a long illness.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with Rev. Donald Jones of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery.
Military honors will be given by the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts of Manning.
Ohde Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Karsten was born May 7, 1929, at Carroll, the son of Albert and Hilda (Schroeder) Karsten. He lived in Manning most of his life and served in the Korean War.
He married Marlys Rutherford April 1, 1954. He had been a truck driver.
Mr. Karsten was a member of the Manning Volunteer Fire Department, the American Legion and the V.F.W. of Manning.
Survivors include his wife, Marlys; four sons, Jeffrey, James, Josef, and Jason, all of Manning; three daughters, Mrs. Dan (Jan) Lorenzen, Joni, and Julie, all of Manning; one granddaughter, Amy Lorenzen; his mother, Hilda Karsten; one half-brother, Gerald Schroeder of Manning.
He was preceded in death by his father.
