In Loving Memory Of Wayne Tibben 1920 - 2012

Wayne Warren, son of George and Laura (Reimers) Tibben, was born December 20, 1920, in Audubon County, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church east of Exira. Wayne attended county school near Exira through the eighth grade and then worked for area farmers.

In December of 1942, Wayne entered the United States Army and served in Europe with General Patton and later in the Philippines, receiving his honorable discharge in March of 1946.

On June 30, 1946, Wayne was united in marriage with Juletta Nissen at the Hamlin Lutheran Church.

Two sons, Gale and Clark, were born to this union. They farmed in Audubon County, buying the place south of Manning in 1962. Wayne actively farmed until Christmas of 2011.

Wayne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. When he wasn't farming, he enjoyed a good game of pinochle and cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After a brief illness, Wayne entered the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in Manning on February 29, 2012, and died there on Thursday, March 15, 2012. He was ninety-one years of age.

Wayne is survived by two sons Gale Tibben and wife Doris of Spirit Lake and Clark Tibben and wife Vickie of Audubon; six grandchildren: Jana Korhonen and husband Sean of Atlanta, Georgia; Dr. Linette and Chris Ewing of Milton, Florida; Joni Roslansky and husband Jason of Selby, South Dakota; Dan Tibben of Manning; Dave Tibben and fiancee Danielle Goetzinger of Manning; and Dennis Tibben of Des Moines; six great-grandchildren: Charlie and Lauryn Tibben; Peyton and Nolan Roslansky; Declan Korhonen and Katherine Ewing; a brother Eldon Tibben and wife Delilah of Fairfield, Nebraska; and by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
