William R. Opperman
William Opperman, US5546322, Spec. 4, was inducted into the Army at Omaha, Nebraska, on February 3, 1954. He took eight weeks basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas, then eight weeks training at Fort Bliss, Texas, on 90MM anti-aircraft artillery. After basics he was transferred to the 10th AAA Battalion that was attached to the Air Force at Fairchild AFB near Spokane, Washington. William's discharge was at Fort Lewis, Washington, February 2, 1956, after which he returned to farm near Manning.
