Wesley Keat, Sr.


Wesley Keat Sr. was born in Manning in 1932.
He had a career, 1951-1973, in the Navy in submarines.
He wore ribbons from Korea and Vietnam.
He retired as Chief of the Boat on a nuclear submarine, Sam Rayburn.

Wesley L. Keat, 63, of Cathedral City, died December 30, 1995, in Rancho Mirage, California.

He was born January 29, 1932, in Manning, Iowa, to Lenore Lamp and George Keat.

He married Janiece Keat in 1958, in San Francisco.

Mr. Keat was a mechanic for the La Quinta Country Club and Fairway, and served with the U.S. Navy for 23 years.

He was a member of the American Legion in Palm Springs, and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Desert Hot Springs.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis Keat of Cathedral City, Wesley L. Keat, Jr., of Indo, and Thomas Keat of Desert Hot Springs; his mother Lenora Keat of Moreno Valley; two brothers, Larry Keat of Hacienda Heights, and Martin Keat of Ocala, Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Services were private.

Burial was at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City.
