Military funeral rites for Kenneth Venteicher, 24, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Manning.
Venteicher died following an auto accident near Templeton early Sunday, January 21, 1968.
A Veteran of oversees service in Korea, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Venteicher of Manning, and seven brothers and sisters.
Deborah Hinners, 18, Manning, also a passenger in the Vogl car, suffered cuts and bruises and was hospitalized in Carroll. Vogl was treated at the hospital for cuts and bruises and was released.
The sheriff's office investigated the accidents.
Military funeral rites for Venteicher will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church at Manning, with the Rev. Norbert Weber officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning after 6 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday.
A son of Edward A. and Loretta (Kasparbauer) Venteicher, he was born September 24, 1943, at Manning. He attended school there, graduating in 1961 from Manning High School.
He entered military service on April 7, 1965, and served for several months in Korea. Since receiving his discharge in January 1967, he had farmed with his father near Manning.
Surviving besides his parents are his brothers and sisters:
LeRoy of Rolla, Missouri; Mrs. James (Shirley Jane) Sjobakken,
and Robert, Ames; James, Manilla; Diane, Edward, and Lynn, at home; and his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kasperbauer, Manning.
