Radioman Wiese died June 25, 1969, at Pikermi, Greece, as result of injuries sustained in an auto accident while on authorized leave. Concelebrants of the requiem mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Church were the Rev. C.A. Altmann, pastor of the church; the Rev. Victor Ramaekers of Bancroft, and the Rev. Ronald J. Naser of Sioux City. The Rev. Robert Letting of Denison also was in the sanctuary.
Honorary pallbearers were Phil Collison, Jim Berg, Eugene Hinners, Bill Badding, Dennis Staiert, and Maurice Nieland.
Active pallbearers, all United States Navy personnel, were Walter F. Williams, DK1; Billy G. Mahan, YN; Earl M. Myers, QM2 (SS); Roger D. Hanson, BR1; Dale E. Gurley, BT1; and Thomas G. Baker, BT1.
The official Navy escort, John R. DeVolld, presented the flag to the family of Radioman Wiese. Present in an honorary capacity, also from the Navy, were Ronald G. Crane and Lt. William E. Breideirt. Lt. Breidert was in charge of the military rites at St. John's Cemetery.
Local Legionnaires forming an honor guard included Theodore P. Schmitz, Eugene A. Schrad, Leon F. Andersen, Archie J. Ricke; Wilbert Lussman, Leroy Vonnahme, Henry Stoffers, Lyle Vonnahme, Al Dentlinger, Joe Staiert, Orville Schroeder, Vic Tomka, Bernard Bellinghausen, Vernon Noelck, Richard Ricke, Louis Hausman, and Leo Schmitz.
The Twit Funeral Home of Carroll was in charge of arrangements.
Relatives attended the funeral from Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Des Moines, Story City, Manila, Templeton, Halbur and surrounding communities.
Radioman Wiese, who had been in the Navy since 1965, was a 1964 graduate of Kuemper High School.

Almas was the daughter of August and Emma (Kusel) Hansen.
Alma's siblings were Verdis Hansen, Elsie Sibbel, and Ida Stoelk.
Virginia graduated from Manning High School in 1941.
Forrest was a WWII Veteran.
