Jerome Lawrence Spieker

Jerome Spieker, age 83, died peacefully Friday, January 22, 2021, in Keokuk, Iowa.
Visitation with the family present will be held on Friday, January 29 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Prayer for the Christian Wake at 7:00 PM at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk.
A Mass for Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk. Burial will immediately follow at the St. John Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa.

Life Story of Jerome Spieker
Jerome Lawrence Spieker was born on July 28, 1937, to Lawrence & Viola (Steininger) Spieker in Templeton, Iowa. Growing up in Templeton, Jerry attended and graduated from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1955.

In the early 1970s, Jerry met the woman who would soon become his wife, Susan Woodford, at the Val Air Ballroom. In 1975, Jerry & Susan entered wedded bliss, thus establishing the Spieker family.

Throughout his life, Jerry worked as an Operator with the IBEWLU-55 where he was the recording secretary at their union meetings for over 20 years. Jerry was also a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John's.

On January 22, Jerry passed from this world after a long illness in Keokuk, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence & Viola Spieker; sister Norma, and brothers, Duane & Larry.

Jerome will forever be remembered by his sons Lance (Jessica) Spieker and Kent Spieker; granddaughters Shelby and Kaylyn; great-granddaughter Eva; sisters Rosemary, Marilyn, Carol, Karen and Donna; and brothers Paul, Butch, and Randy.
