Glenn J. Singsank


Glenn, US55552574, Spec. 4, was inducted into the Army at Omaha, Nebraska, on December 11, 1956. He took his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After basic training he was transferred to Fort Polk, Louisiana, where he stayed until his discharge in December of 1958. He was in the recovery section where they would go out and fix M48 tanks. Glenn returned to Manning and worked at Puck Implement Company until his death on May 27, 1997.


GLENN JOHN SINGSANK

Rite of the Christian burial for Glenn John Singsank will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 1997, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning.
Mr. Singsank, 62, of Manning, died Tuesday, May 27, at Manning General Hospital.
Casket bearers will be Warren Puck, Dick Hansen, Mike Vogel, Kenneth Puck, Ernie Reinke, and Leroy Irlbeck. Honorary casketbearers will be Lonny Bickett, Delford Anderson, and Dennis Andersen.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.
Visitation began this afternoon at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and there will be a rosary and prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born August 6, 1934, at home near Templeton, he was a son of John and Johanna "Jennie" (Muhlbauer) Singsank. He attended country schools and graduated from Manning High School in 1953.
After graduating, he worked at Twin Gables gas station.

Mr. Singsank was drafted into the Army and later was honorably discharged.

He returned to Manning and was employed at Puck Implement for 38 years, many years as service manager. He retired in January.

He and Connie Wegner were married April 28, 1962, at Sacred Heart Church in Manning.

Mr. Singsank was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Singsank, of Manning; three children: Todd Singsank and his wife, Kathy, of Manning, Danny Singsank of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Tracy Pfohl and her husband, Jeff, of Des Moines; six grandchildren; a brother, Earl Singsank and his wife, Jean, of Manning; five sisters: Margaret Popp and her husband, Russell, of Ute, Ardella Berg and her husband, Donald, of Arcadia, Verna Hass and her husband, Merlin, of Manning, Laurel Vogl and her husband, Earl, of Carroll and Cleo Hansen and her husband, Gary, of Overland Park, Kansas; and an aunt, Anna Hugeback, of Manning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Jonathan Singsank.
