END RECRUIT TRAINING
Ronnie L. Mohr, son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Elsie (Rostermundt) Mohr of Manning, and Rollin Kuhl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert and Alice (Wilhelm) Kuhl of Manning have completed recruit training at San Diego, California, and are now spending leave with their parents in Manning.

WESTERN PACIFIC - Serving aboard the attack cargo ship USS Tulare, operating in the Western Pacific, is Rollin H. Kuhl, fireman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kuhl of 827 N. Main, Carroll. The ship recently participated in "Operation Sharpedge," a joint Seventh Fleet, Eighth Army, and Republic of Korea Air Force and Army amphibious exercise, held at Pohang, Korea.

ABOARD CARGO SHIP SAN DIEGO, California
Rollin H. Kuhl, fireman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kuhl, Carroll, is serving aboard the attack cargo ship USS Tulare, a unit of the Pacific Fleet Amphibious Force, headquartered at San Diego, California, which celebrates its 20th anniversary February 20. Established February 20, 1942, the force spearheaded such World War II amphibious campaigns as Guadalcanal, Leyte, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Today, approximately 20,000 men assigned to some 70 ships and supporting units make up the force, commanded by Vice-admiral Howard A. Yeager.
