Robert D. Mohr, 84, of Boone, and formerly of Oakland, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland. Pastor John Rutz will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden, and again Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland. Robert Dean Mohr was born December 2, 1928, in Manning, Iowa, the son of George and Christina (Sonksen) Mohr. He graduated with the Manning High School class of 1947. Bob served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany for 14 months.

On August 16, 1953, Bob was united in marriage to Myra Schroeder at the Manning Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born: Randal, Ricky, Monica, Mark, Robin, and Marcy.

Bob worked briefly at the hatchery in Manning before managing grain elevators in the communities of Audubon, Manning, Grand Junction, and Oakland, Iowa. He later became part owner of Walt's Tire & Muffler in Oakland until selling out and going to work at Fullerton Lumber in Oakland until retiring. Bob also owned and operated Mohr's Barbeque and Catering. Myra passed away on October 3, 1996.

In 2004, Bob married Claudia Anderson in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple made their home in Boone. Bob was a current member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden and a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland where he supported Mission groups. He was a member of the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife Claudia Mohr of Boone, Iowa; six children, Randal (April) Mohr of Oakland, Iowa, Rick Mohr of Oakland, Iowa, Monica Rankin of Muscatine, Iowa, Mark (Kim) Mohr of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Robin (April) Mohr of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Marcy (Brian) Lewis of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two step-children, Jeanne Bridgewater (Tom Schirmer) of Ankeny, Iowa, and Duane Spindler of Spearfish, South Dakota; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Franklin (Arlene) Mohr of Manning, Iowa, Russell Mohr of Manning, Iowa, and Allen Mohr of Arcadia, Wisconsin; two sisters, Louise Mischler of Sacramento, California, and Sandra (John) Holtz of Lodi, California; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myra Mohr; and his granddaughter, Kali Ann Mohr.
