Bob, the son of Elmer and Ruth Fischer, was born July 23, 1945. He entered the U.S. Army September 8, 1965, and received an honorable discharge September 1, 1967.
On January 11, 1971, Bob married Diana Steffes, daughter of Frank and Cordellia Steffes of Templeton, Iowa. They were married in the "Little Brown Church" in Nashua, Iowa.
They have three children: Jerry, Delayne, and Beth.
They lived in Carroll all their married life until January 1987 when they moved to Chandler, Arizona.
While living in Iowa Bob worked powerline construction and Diana did secretarial work and worked for the U.S. Post Office. In Arizona Bob does cable construction work and Diana transferred with the Post Office.
