He was recently home on a short furlough. Pvt. Prebeck is the son of Otto Prebeck of Templeton.

Rite of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton with the Rev. Joseph Steib as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military graveside honors by the Manning Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts. Casketbearers will be Rick Lang, Tom and Lynn Soyer, Dale, Bill, and Randy Prebeck.
Mr. Prebeck is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Joe (Eleanor) Soyer, Glidden; Mrs. George (Ann) Hicks, Mountain Home, Ark.; Mrs. Marie Lang and Allie Prebeck, both of Templeton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers in infancy.
Mr. Prebeck was born March 22, 1915, near Templeton, a son of Otto and Hedwig (Kraus) Prebeck. He attended school in Templeton and during World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the European theater.
The Ohde Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
