Donald Myatt Gets Letter
Pfc. Donald Myatt writes to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Myatt that he has received a nice letter from the American Legion post of Manning and thanks them for remembering him.
Donald has been in the armed forces for one year and is stationed in the Aleutian Islands.


Don Myatt Writes
Mr. and Mrs. James Myatt received a letter from their son Don last Thursday, who is stationed in the Aleutian Islands, stating that he has been promoted to Corporal.
He says he is well and that the fishing is good and expresses the wish that Geo. Frankforter might be with him to get in on a catch of fish of one day that would be sufficient for a whole summer.


DONALD B. MYATT

Donald Blair Myatt, 68, of Norfolk, Nebraska, formerly of Manning, died Sunday evening, March 24, 1974, after a short illness at the Veterans Hospital, Norfolk. He had been at the hospital about 16 months.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Griffin, pastor of the United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Harold Reinke, Michael Oswald, Richard Olbertz, Gerald Hockett, Alfred Spies, and Emil Ruhde. Visitation started at Ohde Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Myatt, son of Jim and Lila (Blair) Myatt, was born here February 23, 1906. He attended school at Manning and finished his schooling in Wisconsin, where he moved with his parents. He returned to Manning as a farm laborer, and in 1956, moved to York, Nebraska.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Letha) Schoonover of Ladysmith, Wisconsin; and Mrs. Louise Boardman of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.

A brother, Ben Myatt, preceded him in death.
