Daniel James Murphy Dies; World War I Vet
Funeral arrangements were being made last night for Daniel J. Murphy, 61, a veteran of World War I and for 40 years a circuit engineer at the Railway Signal Company plant.

Mr. Murphy, who lived at 2691 Chili Road, died yesterday (December 4, 1950). Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, New York.

Born in Manning, Iowa, March 18, 1889, he served with Company E, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division in France and won the Silver Star for gallantry, and the Purple Heart. He was discharged April 19, 1919.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth (Graning) Murphy; two daughters, Mrs. Peter Meade and Miss Sally Murphy a son, James J. Murphy; two sisters Mrs. Arthur Murphy and Mrs. William Kitchener, and two grandchildren.|
