Frederick John Milkert, 57, Manning, Iowa, formerly of Crystal Lake, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 4, 1980, in Manning General Hospital.

He was born October 8, 1922, in Roselle, the son of Frederick and Emma Milkert.

He was a self-employed cafe owner and had served in the Armed Forces.

On August 24, 1946, in Crystal Lake, he married Gladys Radovick, who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Mark, with the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Matthew, Manning; four daughters, Mrs. Nancy Dreher, Hamlin, Iowa; Mrs. Susan Laver, Manning, Iowa; Mrs. Kathy Vander Staay, Dublin, California; and Shirley Milkert, Audubon, Iowa; four grandchildren; his mother, who resides in Chicago, Illinois; and several brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Martin.

Friends may call from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday in the Querhammer Funeral Home, Crystal Lake, where the Rev. Thomas Tews of Immanuel Lutheran Church will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery, Ridgefield, Illinois.
