Thomas J. Lee

Tom was inducted into the U.S Navy February 10, 1982. He took his boot camp and Hospital Corpsman training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois, from February 1982 to August 1982. He served in Bethesda, Maryland, on the Hospital Corpsman Oncology Floor in the Bethesda Naval Hospital from August 1982 to February 1983 and took Transplant Technician training in the Naval Technical school from February 1983 to February 1984 (trained in hemapheresis, surgical research, tissue banking and dialysis). From February 1984 to February 1988 he was a Transplant Technician in the Navy Medical Research Institute and Armed Forces Radiobiological Research Institute.

He spent two years in the research lab studying monoclonal antibodies and two years studying the use of growth factor post bone marrow transplant with an animal model. E-5 (HM2) Lee served active duty from February 10, 1982, to February 10, 1988, and served with the U.S. Navy Reserves from February 10, 1988, to February 10, 1990. He received the Good Conduct and Marksman Ribbon.

Tom is the son of Judy (Atkins) & the late Carl Lee of Manning.
Tom graduated from Manning High School with the class of 1979.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy on active duty from 1982 to1988 and then on active reserve status until 1990.
While on active duty Tom was a Hospital Corpsman, trained in Great Lakes and spent the remaining five and a half years in Bethesda, Maryland.
He worked at the Naval Hospital Bethesda and then was trained in transplant research and worked at Navy Medical Research Institute and the Armed Forces Radiobiological Research Institute until his six years was up.

Tom went to school and got his BS degree in Health Administration.
After discharge he moved to Omaha, worked a few different jobs, plus finished a BS in Nursing and recently his Masters in Public Administration in Health Care.
Tom has been married to Cindy for 10 years and they have a daughter Mara (8) and a son Mason (2).

Tom is currently working as a lymphoma case manager for stem cell transplants at the Lied Transplant Center at UNMC.

Tom says he gets home every now and again to see his Mother Judy (Atkins) Lee. He also is really impressed by the Housebarn and can't wait to see the whole thing completed
