Larry, son of Viola (Joens) & "Barney" Oswald Stangl lived in Manning and attended Grade School his first five years of school, 1946-1951.
Larry served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, 1963-1986, and retired with the rank of Commander. He served two years in Vietnam, 6 months aboard the destroyer USS Ingersoll (DD-652) and 18 months in-country with the Vietnamese Navy.
