LeRoy was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 4, 1957. He took basic training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, and Quartermaster training at Fort Lee, Virginia.
He served in the Honor Guard at Fort Lee, Virginia, for twelve months. LeRoy was honorably discharged March 4, 1959.
