U.S. Air Force S-Sgt. Walter J. Kortman, son of Helen (Delaney) Jansen of Manning, is on duty at Ubon Royal Thai AFB, Thailand. An electronic systems technician, he is assigned to a unit of the Pacific Air Forces, headquarters for air operations in Southeast Asia, the Far East and the Pacific area. He previously served at MacDill AFB, Florida.
He is a 1954 graduate of Manning High School.
