Keith Allan King

Keith Allan King was born September 26, 1947, at Manning, to Charles E. King, Jr. and Victoria (Masilunas) King.
He enlisted in the Navy in May, 1965, several weeks after graduation from high school and received his basic training in San Diego, California.

He was Aviation Electrician's Mate Airman serving on board the U.S.S. Oriskany in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Keith served with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (V.A.W.) which is the largest air squadron in the U.S. Navy. They provide a continuous all weather airborne early warning radar surveillance and fighter intercept control, and also provide submarine search services to ships of the fleet operating in the North Pacific Ocean between Midway Island and the Aleutian Islands. The U.S.S. Oriskany helped the U.S.S. Forrestal when it caught on fire. They were at the landing of the astronauts when they splashed down on their return from the moon, south of Hawaii. The astronauts came aboard the U.S. Oriskany.

He spent Christmas in Hong Kong. He has been to Hawaii, Subic Bay, and Japan. After four years in the Navy, he was honorably discharged.

He is married to Beverly (Feltner), daughter of the Charles Griffiths, and they have a son, Nathan Charles, born at the Carroll Hospital on February 9, 1978. They live in Audubon, also Bev's two sons by her previous marriage, Jonathon and Timothy Feltner.
Keith is a propane salesman with the Farm Bureau Service in Audubon.
