Taking Part in a special helicopter airlift in the Hawaiian Islands are three Manning Marines. Members of the 9th Marine Regiment they are: Pvt. Donald L. Lerssen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lerssen; Pvt. James R. Wingrove, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel H. Wingrove; and Pvt. Arthur F. Zerwas.

Five Manning Youths Finish Basic Training
Donald Lerssen, James Wingrove, Jack Wagner, Art Zerwas, and Jack Mohr, Manning boys who enlisted in the Marine Corps together have completed basic training at San Diego. California. They are now spending leaves in their homes here. All except Mohr will report for foreign duty at Camp Pendleton, California. He will report at another California camp.

Manning Marines Leave For Japan
Four Manning men, who joined the Marines together last spring, have left for duty in Japan.
They are Jack Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Wagner; Don Lerssen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lerssen; Art Zerwas, son of and Mrs. Dick Zerwas; James Wingrove, son of Mr. Mrs. Dan Wingrove.
Jack Mohr, son of Mr. Mrs. Jack Mohr, who joined Marine at the same time, returned to Santa Ana, California, following a holiday visit here.

Get Transfers
Four Manning men, who joined the Marines men, tether and have been stationed in Japan have been transferred. Don Lerssen, Artie Zerwas, and James Wingrove have been transferred to Hawaii. Jack Wagner is now in Okinawa.
