John Rienhold, Jr., grandson of Mrs. Mary West, who has been at the naval training station at Farragut, Idaho, has been granted a medical discharge and will return home soon.

John Reinhold, Sr.

John David Reinhold, Sr., 78, of Desert Hot Springs, California, died December 18, 2003, in Palm Springs of natural causes.

He was born December 5, 1925, to John F. and Gretta (West) Reinhold in Manning, Iowa. He graduated from Manning High School in 1943.

He married Marilyn J. Watts on April 13, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was a pharmaceutical salesman for 15 years and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1944.

He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and the American Legion Post 763.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Michael and Gregg of Fresno; his sister, Rhoda Sunberg of New Orleans; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, John David, Jr.

Services are pending with entombment at Palm Springs Mausoleum in Cathedral City, California, under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuary.

The family suggests that donations be made to a charity of choice.
