Private Inurnment services were held at the Nishnabotna Cemetery near Manilla, Iowa, in the Merle and Jean Saunders plot, prior to the memorial services at Ohde Funeral Home.
A luncheon was held at the VFW after the memorial services.

Raymond died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Hansen House in Council Bluffs.
Ray was married to Merlene Kay Saunders and they have three children: Sharon "Dede," Lawrence Jay, and Jeff.
