Bradley Gene, son of Glenn and Marian Katherine (Frank) Hilgenberg, was born August 15, 1959, at Manning in
Carroll County, Iowa. He attended school in Bayard, graduating with the Bayard High School class of 1977. After graduation Brad enlisted with the United States Air Force and specialized in telecommunications. On April 22, 1981, Brad was united in marriage with Unsong “Shina” Shin at Seoul, Korea. Three children were born to this union. Brad and Shina lived in Virginia, Japan, Kansas, Germany, California, Korea and Florida. Following 23 years of service and attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, Brad retired from the Air Force on June 1, 2001. Brad then returned to Iowa and worked as the Manager of Field Operations at McLeod USA in Des Moines. |
