Max Eugene HIGDAY born January 24, 1933, in Kellerton, Iowa, middle child to Carroll and Jennie (Mackey) Higday.

He spent his childhood years in Kellerton, entered the Air Force in 1950 and spent the next 12 years in the Armed Forces. Married Mary Ellen Swank in August 29, 1962, and raised 5 children. With his experience from the military he became an Electrician upon exit from the service. He wired several big projects in his career, including the Hospital in Creston, the housing units in Corning and Manning, also numerous electrical jobs for friends and family.

He enjoyed his retirement years at Clearview Manor in Clearfield, Iowa. Playing cards with friends, cooking outside at the gazebo, watching and feeding the birds, and his road trips with friends and family.

Proceeded in death by his father & mother Carroll and Jennie Higday, Brother Gerald, and infant sister Jeanette Ann.

Survived by siblings, Rosemary, Betty Jean, Caryllou, Jackie, and Linda Kay. Mother of their children, Mary Higday, Children Bob McLead, Brent and Faith Higday, Marilyn and Steve Thompson, Mike Higday, Mark Higday. Special friend Mildred Mathews, nine Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and other relatives and many friends.

Max passed away December 1, 2002, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Note: the Higday family was here from 1969 through 1970 school year, and the housing project he worked on was the construction of Terrace Apartments.
Robert, Brent, and Marilyn attended school at Manning for one year.
