Harold Hassler First B1 Selectee
Harold Hassler is the first Manning Class B1 selectee to leave. He with seven others left Tuesday for Des Moines. The men are called to the army for limited service.
Harold returned Tuesday evening for two weeks to round up business interests.

Harold Hassler at Schick
Hospital Harold "Chub" Hassler write from Schick General Hospital , Clinton, Iowa, to thank the Legion and Monitor for the home paper, which he enjoys every week.
He also thanks the Legion an the V. F. W. for the nice Christmas cards, and also his friend who have sent cards since he ha been a patient in the Schick General Hospital at Clinton. He says he is still in bed but expects to be up in a week or so.

The hospital is large and the have around 1500 patients then most of them have been across. The care of the patients is excellent.
In closing he sends best regard to everyone.
