HAROLD OTTO PETER VOEGE
Harold, son of Otto and Alfrieda (Weller) Voege, was born July 27, 1923, north of Westside, in Jackson Township, Iowa.
He attended rural schools near his home and then worked on the family farm. In the early 1940s the family moved to a farm north of Aspinwall. Harold entered the United States Army on August 27, 1945. He served as a Surgical Technician at the 98th General Hospital in Munich, Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1947.

Harold was united in marriage with Phyllis Mueller on December 30, 1948, in Walnut. One child, Jean, was born to this union. They farmed his family's farm until his semi-retirement following a hip operation in 1984. However, after that he continued to raise some cattle and hogs. In his later years he enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with his friends. Harold was a member of the United Church in Westside and the American Legion and VFW in Manning.

Harold died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 1995, at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, Iowa, at the age of 72 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Manning; his daughter, Jean Voege, of Powell, Wyoming; his sister, Arlene Voege, of Manning; cousins, other relatives and friends.
