John Gordon


2005 information
John joined the Army National Guard (168th Infantry out of Carroll) on May 1996. He took his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, in the summers of 1996 and 1997. He served in Operation Enduring Freedom, 2004 and 2005, at Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, doing force patrol duties. He has received the Service Achievement Award and Combat Infantry Badge and is Combat Lifesaver certified. John returned from Afghanistan in 2005, serving a fifteen-month tour. He trained for three months at Fort Hood, Texas, and was in-country for twelve months before returning home. John has achieved the rank of SPC-E4.
