Arrangements for George F. Keat, 61, of 708 North East Street, Carroll, are pending at the Twit Funeral Home, awaiting word from his daughter in Germany.
Mr. Keat, a meat cutter at Brenny's market since 1955, died unexpectedly at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 1970, at St. Anthony Hospital. Prior to his employment at Brenny's he had worked at the former Central Food Market here from 1927 until 1943.
A son of Sam and Sarah Tate Keat, he was born September 13, 1909, at Manning and graduated from Manning High School in 1927. In World War II he held the rank of T4 in the 11th portable surgical hospital corps, and served in Europe, the southern Philippines and Luzon.
He was married to Colet Eich at Mason City, December 26, 1947. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Surviving with his wife are seven children: Wesley, Larry, and Marty of California; Mrs. John (Judi) Daniel, in Germany; Richard, Ronald, and Jane, at home; also a brother and two sisters, Jack, Mabel, and Nell Keat, all of Manning.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
