S.A. Donald Stoelk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stoelk of Manning, has now completed his naval boot training. He will leave on February 28 for Great Lakes, Illinois, after spending a leave with his parents. Sunday dinner guests in the Stoelk home were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Porsch and, children; Mrs. Janice Popp and Patsy, Betty Kelvinal, Madrid; Eileen Jensen, Botna; Merle, Berdine and Don Stoelk.

DONALD A. STOELK

Funeral for Donald Albert Stoelk in Milwaukie, Oregon, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1967, at Peake Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie. Interment will be Manning, Iowa.

Mr. Stoelk was born August 31, 1929, in Manning, Iowa, to Albert and Elsie (Klindt) Stoelk. He attended Jefferson No. 1 country school through the eighth grade and lived in Manning until 1948, when he moved to Omaha, Nebraska.

In 1949, he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad and moved to Madrid, Iowa. In 1964, he was transferred to the Portland area where he worked as the sales representative.

He was a member of the Milwaukie BPOE No. 2032. He was assistant scoutmaster for Troop No. 143 and was the Explorer chairman for Post No. 143.

Survivors include the widow, Betty A., three sons, Jeffery, Stephen, and Craig, all in Portland, and one daughter, Mrs. Rodney Jobe, Oregon City.

He is also survived by his father, Albert, and one brother, Merle, both of Manning, Iowa, and three sisters, Mrs. Jaenice Popp, Manning, Iowa, Mrs. Darlene Porsch, Perry, Iowa, and Mrs. Berdine Herbers, Las Vegas, Nevada.


Donald Stoelk is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
