Donald Ray Sander, the son of Hugo and Florence Sander, was born September 2, 1930, in Manning, Iowa. After his graduation from Arnolds Park High School, Don served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after four years.

Don was united in marriage to Colleen Sander. The family lived in Arnolds Park for the past forty-eight years where Don worked as a lineman for the city utilities. He loved to fish, ride his bike, talk to his neighbors and enjoyed following his grandchildren's activities. He was an animal lover of all kinds, especially his dogs, and last but not least, he was a very avid Chicago Cubs fan. Go Cubs Go!

Don passed away May 22, 2016, at Avera Hearth Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at eighty-five years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen; sons, Dave (Beth) Sander and Mark (Mollie) Sander; daughter, LeAnn Budrow; grandchildren, Jessica Sander, Tyler Sander (Ashley), Lindsay Baxter, Lucas Budrow (Miley Hunziker) and Cody Budrow; great-grandchildren, C.J. and Leighton Sander.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.
