A group of relatives and friends gathered at the Alfred David home Sunday for a picnic dinner honoring Donald David who will leave May 31 for Navy physical examinations.

9 Graduated From Gray High School
On Thursday evening, May 19, 1949, nine seniors received their diplomas completing their study at Gray High School. Lloyd Aikman, president of the board of education presented the following with diplomas: Margaret Hansen, Evelyn Wanninger, Mary Davis, LaRue Hagge, Russell Mohr, Harold Blankenship, Donald David, Billy NoeIck, and Nor­man Wenig.
The commencement address was given by Hobert W. Lindberg, sec­retary of the Y.M.C.A. at Des Moines.
Evelyn Wanninger, daugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe Wanninger, was presented with a gold medal for having the highest scholastic average.
Norman Wenig, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wenig, also received a medal for rating second scholastically.
The class officers are: Presi­dent, Norman Wenig; vice-presi­dent, Donald David; secretary-treasurer, Evelyn Wanninger.

Donald "Don" Albert David
Don was born on February 19, 1931, and raised in the Manning, Iowa, area.

He was son of Alfred Gustav William and Wilda Emma (Hinz) David.

He passed away January 15, 2022, in Omaha, Nebraska, and was cremated.

He served in the United States Navy.

Don was a loving husband to surviving spouse, Marie, for 44 years.

He is survived by a son, Randy, daughter, Robin, a sister, Lois Jensen, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
