CARL ROSTERMUNDT IN ITALY
Hello Folks and Friends:
I am just writing a few lines to tell you how welcome the Manning Monitor is over here to me. I receive them almost every week with the exception of a few times.
I like to read the Soldiers' column and always except to read about someone overseas here in Italy where I am. I have met three fellows from Carroll County since I have been in Italy.

The weather has been awfully wet over here ever since we landed here, but otherwise it is a very nice country or has been at one time.
Well, space is getting short, so until the day that all the boys can come back to the old home town again for good, I'll say so long for now and hope to be back soon, feeling as good as I left and do now.

Receives Monitor in Europe
Dear Friends:
Hello everybody! Just a few lines to let you know I am still kicking and still receiving the good old paper pretty regular, and enjoy it very much, even if there are a lot of strange names and things I don't know much about. It seems that two years has made a big change in things back home.

I would like to meet someone from home to talk to again. I met my wife's brother last year in Rome, Pfc. Wesly Freml from Denison, and that's the last I've seen of him or anyone else.
Well, the candle is getting low so I will close for now, hoping this war will end soon.
Pvt. Carl Rostermundt.
