Fifth Son of Stangls Answers Country's Call
Ormond Schroeder and William Stangl left Tuesday for Camp Dodge where they will
be inducted into the armed service. Ormond is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Schroeder and Stangl is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stangl and will be the
fifth of their sons who have answered their country's call.

BILLY H, STANGL Billy H. Stangl, 43, operator of the Royal Hotel here, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 1960 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient since Dec. 9. Friends may call at the Huffman Funeral Chapel in Coon Rapids, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and at 8 p.m. Sunday, led by the Rev. Robert E. Dougherty. The Loyal Order of Moose, Carroll, will hold a memorial service at the chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday. The body will remain at the chapel until the hour of rites. Requiem mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, December 26, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids with Fr. Dougherty as celebrant. Mr. Stangl, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Stangl, was born at Omaha Feb. 10,
1917. He was married to Debra Wood at Manning January 2, 1940: and they have lived at Coon Rapids for the past 13 years. He was a member of Annunciation Church, Coon Rapids;
Charles Carroll Council Knights of Columbus, Carroll; Loyal Order of Moose, Carroll and Gurney Post No. 158. American Legion, Coon Rapids, having served in World War II. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kay) Rowe, Kingsville, Texas, Linda, Doris and Patty, at home: his mother, Mrs. John H. Stangl Dedham: also the following brothers and sisters: Mike and Clement Stangl, Coon Rapids. Oswald, Wilson and Patrick Stangl, Knoxville, Mrs. Warren (Mary Kay) Mendez and Mrs. Paul (Caroline) Smith, Holly, Mich.: Mrs. Al (Alice Claire) Broude, Los Angeles, Calif.: Mrs. Henry Niehaus, Morrill, Neb.: Clarence Stangl, Rinard: Clayton Stangl, Dedham; Mrs. Robert (Janet) McDonald, Irwin; and Mrs. Gerald (Isabel) McDonald, Lennox, Calif. His father died June 10, 1958.
