Receives Honorable Discharge
August Stangl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stangl, has received an honorable discharge from the army and returned home the later part of last week.
He has been in the army for more than three years.


AUGUST STANGL
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church here for August Stangl, World War II veteran, who was found dead as a result of accidental shotgun wounds in the chest about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 1954.

He was born in Petersburg, Nebraska, on June 2, 1910, to Fred and Wilhelmina (Willenborg) Stangl.

Requiem mass will be offered by the Rev. Thomas Molloy.

Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery at Templeton.

The ceremonial team of the Manning American Legion Post will take part in the military rites. The firing squad and pallbearers will be post members.

He had the following siblings: Florence Grimm, Agatha Lohmeier, Leona Stangl, Rita Stangl, Sister Mary Hilary Stangl, Fred, and Leonard.
