Earlier you read a little about the McPherson Post No. 33, G.A.R. hall. At this point in time we are not exactly sure if this Veterans' Post was FIRST located at 202 Main Street but we do know it was located at 202 Main for most of the time. The only view of this hall I have found is from this picture taken from the water tower and looking to the northwest. The Great Western and Northwester railroad tracks are seen in the background. I circled the building where the G.A.R. Hall was located at that time and shows the rear view of that building. It was a 2 story wooden structure which was later torn down and replaced by the block building "Loucks Apartments" which is still there today.
It is doubtful that we'll ever find a picture of the front of the G.A.R. hall from a ground-level Main Street view so I asked Tom MacDonald-Williams to use his talents and extrapolate from the above picture what the front side of the hall would look like. Below is his artist's rendition on what it might have looked like from Main Street.
