Souvenirs From Nazi-Land Sent by Manning Soldier on Display Here
T/5 Willis Grimm, 21, youngest son of Mrs. Dora Grimm, who has the distinction of having five sons in the service, has an interesting, and large collection of souvenirs from Germany on display in the window of the local municipal light office window.
Willis entered the service in February, 1943, and went overseas in December of that year, landing in England on New Year's day. He served in France, Belgium and Germany but has sprint the longest time in Germany where many of the articles on exhibit were picked up.

Embroidered Flowers Included in the display are pieces of jewelry which might have come from the United States, also a black satin pillow top with rose colored ruffle and a wheelbarrow of embroidered flowers in many, colors.
There is a mew canteen with a metal drinking cup, which according to our boys, does not compare with the ones we have. However, there is a compass in a metal case, with am arrow target finder and' about a two-inch rule on the side, superior to the United States model. A bayonet and scabbard also said to be inferior to our type is there.

There are belt buckles inscribed "Gott Mit Uns," and medals and insignia of all kinds; swastikas on everything; arm bands, flags, pennants, and numerous other shaped pieces of cloth with the same insignia; field glasses; an officer's cap and a field helmet; an inkwell and pen holder; a paper weight of crystal from Wiesbaden Kochbrunnen and all types of coins and paper money, one for five million marks, several types of 1,000,000 marks.

There is also a small pair of wooden shoes with turned up toes, a long chain of squares of metal on which are different buildings in France; a pocket knife, fork and spoon for the mess kit; a long hatchet and a hunting knife, and among all this appears a box which might have been some bigwig's cigarette box.

All in all, it is a collection worth taking time to notice and it is interesting to compare the articles with similar ones used by our fighting men.
