I scanned these pictures from the Connie Petersen collection in 2017
Her mother was Marian (Ohrt) Petersen who graduated from MHS in 1942.
Connie is related to the Ruhde family through the Ohrt side of her family.
Her aunt was Shirley (Ohrt) Reid - Mrs. Virgil

Connie has been a big help with many of my Manning historical projects, by not only providing hundreds of old Manning/family pix to scan but she also searches the internet for obituaries, military, and other information about Manning and its citizens and e-mails it to me.

Harold Ruhde on the Ohrt farm just across the tracks in the northwest part of Manning.
Today west across West Street from the Soybean plant.

Marge not in picture - living in South Carolina

Victor "Jimmie" Frederick Richard Spack, Chuck Loftus, Marge (Ruhde) Loftus, Arlene (Ruhde) Spack

Given name was Victor, Jimmie was a nickname that somehow relates to the German word for blonde as has been explained to me.
He had the tavern - Vick's Place” across from the bowling alley, became Arlene's Place when Linda's dad died.

Michael Abildtrup - son-in-law of Arlene (Ruhde) Spack-Jensen
After Arlene's husband, Vic, passed away she married Alvin Jensen whose wife had also passed away...Alvin was the son of Dessa Dell (Kusel) Jensen another connection to the Ruhde family. Sometimes it becomes confusing and complicated figuring out ALL of the inter-connections in Manning.
