She attended Lincoln No. 4 and No. 9 Country Schools with her siblings in Audubon County and graduated from Manning High School in 1954. After high school, she worked at the Manning Creamery. In 1956, she married Robert Phillips. They made their home on the farm north of Manning where they raised their children: Rebecca, Lynn, and Lisa. Audrey worked at the creamery office, then Carroll County Home Mutual Insurance Association of Manning, and Soll's Service. She served as the Manning Hospital Auxiliary President for 16 years.

Audrey was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, coffee cake, and peanut bars. Just ask any of her grandkids about this! She also made many loaves of all bran bread. Robert and Audrey enjoyed many trips in their motor home traveling all over the United States. Robert passed away in the year 2000 and Audrey moved to the town of Aspinwall, Iowa, in 2000.

A few years later, she met a new friend and traveling partner, Wesley Stoelk. They traveled to many places and enjoyed going to auctions. Audrey enjoyed her extended family, the Stoelks, and dearly loved all of them.

She is survived by her children: Becky (Steve) Zinke of Corning, Iowa; son Lynn (Mary) Phillips of Aspinwall, and daughter Lisa (Daryl) Rohe of Manning; ten grandchildren Jamy Zinke (Jackie), Elizabeth Timmerman (Andy), Stacie Julich, Laura Bell, Kelly (Kayla) Phillips, Christine (Jay) Pottebaum, Ryan Rohe (Tiff), Rusty Rohe (Laura), Robbie Rohe (Amy), and Ross Rohe (Laura); nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother Alan (Alma) Leinen of Omaha, a sister Doris (Bob) Semback of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
