Chuck Moore
Charles D. Moore enlisted in the U.S. Army in July of 1971. He took basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and advanced training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
He served with the rank of Sergeant in the Pershing Missile system that comprised the 56th Brigade, 7th Army, in Europe. After a tour of two years in Germany he was rotated to Fort Sill and was honorably discharged with three years of service in July 1974.
Chuck returned to Manning where he has since resided.

Youth Killed in Tractor Mishap

Gregory Leigh Moore, 19, of rural Manilla, was killed instantly about 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1970, when the tractor he was driving overturned and burned on a county road two and one-half miles south of Botna, in Shelby County. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale & Joanne (Grundmeier) Moore, Manilla.
Rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Robert Rushing, pastor of the Manning Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was employed as a farm hand. He was born at Manning August 6, 1950. He attended Jefferson No. 1 rural school, and graduated in 1969 from Manning High School. He was a member of the Manning Presbyterian Church and had been active in its fellowship organizations during his school years.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Mrs. LaVern (Jacquelynn) Spieker of Pocahontas; a brother, Charles, student at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls; and grandparents, Mrs. Elsie Moore, Manilla, and Clarence Grundmeier, Manning.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Christi; his maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather.

CHRISTI JO MOORE
Christi Jo Moore, two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gale and Joanne (Grundmeier) Moore, Manning, died Thursday night, September 6, 1962, at Tommy Dale Memorial Hospital in Sioux City after a lifelong illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Sinning, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate; and burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Christi Jo was born July 31, 1960, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital, a daughter of Gale and Joann Grundmeier Moore.

Surviving are her parents; one sister, Jacquelynn; two brothers, Charles and Gregory; and her grandparents, Mrs. Elsie Moore, Botna, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Hulda Grundmeier, Manning.

Her paternal grandfather, Wilford Moore, preceded her in death.
