Most people won't realize how many Civil War Veterans once lived in Manning unless they follow along with my web page features and topics. I am now up to 102 Civil War Veterans
who lived in/around Manning. There are still a number of citizens living in Manning today who are descendants of Civil War Veterans.
I won't try to go into everyone or their exact relationship in their family tree, but as a few examples, Jan (Arp) Ranniger descends from Donald Sutherland.
These Manning individuals descend from Gilbert & Joseph Moore - Dorothy (Moore) Strosahl, Harvey Dales, and Kim (Doyle) Fara.
None of Gale Moore's descendants live in Manning today, but are of course descendants of Gilbert & Joseph.
Ron Soll is a descendant of Jacob Nickum.
Gladys Schmidt is a descendant of Joseph Sawtell.
