Marvin Bogatzke, age 95, of Atlantic and formerly of Manning, died Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Heritage House Wesley Retirement Home in Atlantic.

Marvin Herman Edwin Bogatzke, son of Karl and Amanda (Dammann) Bogatzke, was born March 30, 1928, on the farm in Audubon, Iowa. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning April 2, 1944, attended Lincoln No. 4 country school, and graduated from Manning High School with the Class of 1946. He went into farming with his father and later, by himself and his wife.

On June 12, 1949, Marvin was united in marriage with Donna Fae Mohr, his high school sweetheart, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Three children were born to this union. They continued farming south and east of Manning. Marvin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, then later, St. John Lutheran Church in Audubon. In 1977, the family moved to Memphis, Missouri to farm for close to 30 years. After Donna died in 2005, Marvin moved back to Audubon, Iowa to retire.

Marvin's health declined and he died at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa. He reached the age of 94 years.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna Bogatzke; siblings: Mae and husband Ken Fogleman; Marilyn Holmes; Marlene and husband Clifford Radtke; Myron Bogatzke, a brother and sister in infancy; and son-in-law Larry Young.

Marvin is survived by his children: Gwena Young of Omaha, Nebraska; Pamela and husband David Mickelson of Bouton; Todd Bogatzke and wife Judy of St. James, Missouri; five grandchildren; sister-in-law Wilma Bogatzke of Des Moines; brother-in-law Danny Holmes of Kiron; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
