Funeral Services for 94 year old Margie A. Schnoor will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. Burial at Nishnabotna Cemetery in Manilla.

Margie died August 21, 2021, at Eventide Nursing Home in Denison. Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla in charge of arrangements.

Margie Ann, daughter of Gus and Elsie (Wegner) Schrum, was born March 2, 1927, in Iowa Township, south of Aspinwall, Iowa. She attended Iowa No. 3 country school in Crawford County, and one year in Manning.

Margie was baptized in March of 1928 and confirmed in March of 1944, as a young adult in the Lutheran faith by the late Pastor John M. Ansorge in Manning.

On June 20, 1947, Margie was united in marriage with Merlin C. Schnoor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla. They were blessed with two children: Ronald and Barbara. Before her marriage, Margie was employed at Priebe's Egg Drying Plant in Manning. In the fall of 1966, she started her employment as a nurse's aide at the Manning Plaza. She continued working there until the spring of 1976 when she took employment at the Manilla Manor Care Center, retiring in March of 1989.

Margie was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Priscilla Guild. She was also an active member and past-president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Margie bowled for many years and was excellent cook and baker. In her retirement, Margie enjoyed traveling. Her first airplane ride was to Germany to visit Barbara and her family.

In 2013, Margie became a resident of Eventide Nursing Home in Denison, Iowa, where she passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. She was 94 years, 4 months, and 19 days of age.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merlin Schnoor in 2007; son-in-law Phillip Anthony; four brothers: Harvey (Aloha) Schrum, Lester (Estella Schrum), and Arlo, and Louis Schrum in infancy; two sisters: Ladonna (Alvin) Wiese and JoAnn (Jack) Smith.

She is survived by two children: Ron Schnoor and wife Sandy of Manilla; Barbara Anthony of O'Fallon, Illinois; three grandchildren: Christina (Dennis) Grelk, Scott (Sarah) Anthony and Heather (Justin) Patton; and three great-grandchildren: Lily Patton, Alexia Anthony and Annabelle Anthony; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
