FREDERICH AUGUST HANSEN
After a short illness of only a week's duration, Frederich August Hansen, former resident of Hayes Township, and well-respected farmer, passed away at his home in Manning Wednesday, May 17th, at 3 p.m. at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Frederich August Hansen was born July 5th, 1838, in Holstein, Germany. He came to America in 1868, settling first in Clinton County, Iowa, where he was united in marriage with Trinke Ehrichs in 1870. Seven children were born to them. Two died in infancy. They moved to Crawford County in 1872, settling in Hayes Township, where they lived until 1906 moving to Manning, Iowa.

He leaves to mourn, his aged wife, one son and four daughters, namely: John Hansen of Crawford County, Miss Maggie Hansen of Manning, Mrs. Henry Mundt of Carroll County, Mrs. Henry Stuhr of Botna, Mrs. John Pencker of Manning. Besides these he leaves twenty grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday May 19th at 2:00 p.m., from the home in Manning and interment was made in the Manning Cemetery. Rev. Theodore A. Thomas, pastor of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Westside officiated.
