Making the Kusel connection in the Seedorf, Germany church records

Through the research efforts of Mary Kusel and the Vicar of Seedorf, Germany we have discovered new information on the Christian & Dorathea Kusel family.
Below you see is what we now know to be Christian Kusel's tree starting with his Grandfather Andreas Kusel.
Andreas Kusel is my Great Great Great Great Grandfather.

This picture was taken at the Seedorf Church in 1997 by Jon Ahrendsen. We were going over the records that showed Friedrich George Christian Kusel & his wife Catharina Maria Dorothea Meinecke Kusel. It turned out that they were the family we were looking for.
Left to right -- Dave Kusel, Seedorf Vicar, Margarethe Meinke-Peters, Peter Kusel and his son.

Friedrich and Catharina (#3 generation below) had three children who were born in Prussia: Christian Heinrich Johann, Wilhelm Friedrich Joachim, and Wilhelmina Carolina Maria (who died shortly after arriving in America). Friedrich and his family immigrated from Hamburg, Germany and arrived at the Port of New York on May 28, 1855, aboard the ship, John Hermann.

This information was taken from the Church records at Seedorf by Mary & the Vicar.

The next information compares what we knew about Christian, Dorathea & their first 2 children to the information found in Germany.

When I went over to Germany in 1997 the Vicar at Seedorf found Friedrich George Christian Kusel & Catharina Maria Dorothea Meinecke for me but we couldn't say for sure if this was our Christian & Dorathea.

In early June of 1999 Mary Kusel went to Germany and dug deeper in the records at Seedorf and was able to find the Children of Friedrich and Catharina and their first 2 kids match almost exactly to our Christian & Dorathea's first 2 kids. The daughter of Friedrich and Catharina fits in to the missing daughter we were looking for.

The names and birth dates are slightly different but are too close to be a coincidence.

Bold/color names are German records and standard text names are US records.

Possibly the missing girl we are looking for. ---

Christian Heinrich Johann Kusel's godparent was Maria Meineke of Wittenberge.

Wilhelm Friedrich Joachim Kusel's godparent was Maria Kusel of Bochin.

William Kusel's obituary says he came from Proenitz near the town of Lenzen to Iowa in 1854.

Lenzen is one of the larger towns near Nausdorf, Seedorf & Deibow and there is also a town called Proettlin which could be the town we thought was spelled Proenitz. This is another clue we will follow up on.

There are several Kusels in this area of Germany that will be assisting Mary and me to find more detailed information on the Christian Kusel tree.
Peter Kusel of Baekern, Germany (which is 1 mile from Lenzen) is one of the Kusels assisting.
