Comments: My grandfather ( John D.Coleman ) was a policeman in Manning in the 50's & 60's from what I remember upon my
visits while on vacation with my parents & brother. Are you able to tell me what became of my grandpa after the death of his wife and if he stayed in Manning?
Recently through a website called "Checkmate" I traced a John D. Coleman of 106 yrs old to be living in a town here in Fl.I did not persue to call this person
to see if he haplpened to be this same John D. Coleman. This has definitely sparked my curiosity after finding my grandmother's obituary write-up of a Manning funeral home.
I thank you very much for any of your assistance in this matter.
Comments: David, Doug told me you posted a wonderful 'story' about Lyle on you webpage and indeed you did.
He was truly an outstanding man and leader in the Manning community. God got someone very special on August 23rd, 2015. Thanks for all your hard
work on keeping the veterans' memories alive.

Comments: My mother was Bernice Koon who worked as a waitress for Bonita Hagedorn (owner) of the Virginia Café for a good many years.
At one time I saw a picture of my mom with several other employees of the Virginia café and taken in the restaurant. I would love someone to find that picture and send me a copy.
I would gladly pay for a search fee. I don't know if it was in one of the history books or where I saw it but it showed how beautiful my mom was and an excellent waitress
either late 40's or early 50's. My brothers were Tom and Gary Koon. I graduated I 1955. Sicerely Shannon Goeser
