It is the sincere hope of the Manning Heritage Foundation that the contents of this 1981-1991 update to the Manning Centennial History Book will be enjoyed by all who share interest in the city's history.

While this committee was smaller than the original book committee, and while the book is smaller, reflecting just ten years, the effort that went into both books was the same: to preserve records of our past, as accurately as possible. There will be omissions and, unfortunately, errors; it is inevitable. We can only say, we tried.

We are extremely grateful for the cooperation of those individuals who submitted history summaries for inclusion in the book. Your efforts to help record another ten years of Manning's history have been appreciated.
